Lemooriya Ananthan

ASSOCIATE

I have worked exclusively in the area of family law since graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2021. I was called to the bar in 2023 and subsequently practised as an associate at boutique family law firms across the GTA, as well as at a mid-sized firm in Ottawa.

My work has taken me to courts across Southern Ontario where I have handled high-conflict family and child protection matters. My work includes complex cases involving family violence, parental alienation, and financial disputes. Currently, I assist clients with a range of family law issues, including parenting time, decision-making responsibility, child and spousal support, and property division. While I work to resolve matters through practical and effective negotiation where possible, I am a strong advocate when litigation becomes necessary. I regularly appear before the Superior Court of Justice.

In my practice, I value transparency and communication. I understand how deeply personal family law matters are, and I believe clients should feel informed and empowered to make the final decisions that affect their lives and their families. I support clients through this process with clarity, compassion, and strong advocacy, and I take a trauma-informed approach to legal representation.

I speak Tamil and warmly welcome Tamil-speaking clients.

Outside of my legal practice, I am involved in several community organizations and serve on the Women’s Committee of the Canadian Tamils’ Chamber of Commerce. In my spare time, I enjoy painting, exploring new cafés and restaurants, and spending time with my wonderful family and friends.
