I have been practicing family law exclusively since my call to the bar in 2011. Prior to opening my own practice in 2021, I clerked, articled and subsequently worked as an associate at two prominent boutique family law firms in the GTA.
With over a decade of experience, my practice incorporates all aspects of family law, including separation and divorce, property division, custody and access, child and spousal support, marriage contracts, cohabitation agreements, separation agreements and adoptions. I have experience handling high conflict parenting disputes and complex property and support claims.
I am a certified collaborative lawyer. This method of practice emphasizes cooperation and mutual respect, allowing my clients to reach amicable solutions without court intervention. I recognize however, that sometimes court is unavoidable. I have advocated for clients at various court levels, and I regularly appear before the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice.
I believe in a communicative, transparent, and client-centered approach. I ensure that my clients feel heard, understood, and supported throughout their legal journey. I am committed to achieving resolutions that align with each client’s individual needs and goals.
I speak Farsi and welcome Farsi speaking clients. In my nominal spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling and DIY projects.
From an early age, I recognized that I was passionate about human rights and access to justice. This motivated me to pursue my journey in the field of law. I obtained my Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at the City Law School at City, University of London in 2020. During my time in law school, I excelled in the areas of criminal justice and the law of evidence. Furthermore, I volunteered and worked at an Immigration/Asylum Tribunal. Prior to gaining my legal education, I obtained my Bachelor of Arts from York University.
I am currently completing my national committee accreditation process, and I anticipate being called to the bar of Ontario in the late summer of 2025.
I joined Bani Family Law in April 2024. Since that time, I have expanded my knowledge of family law issues including parenting and decision making, child and spousal support, equalization of net property and various financial matters.
I speak and read Farsi fluently. In my downtime, you can find me spending quality time with my family and friends, trying new restaurants and travelling internationally.
I graduated the law clerk program from Seneca college in 2021. Prior to that, I obtained my Bachelors of Law degree from Tehran University in 2018.
I joined Bani Family Law in June, 2022. I handle the day to day operations of the firm and deal directly with clients, lawyers, and other professionals. I have a patient manner with clients.
I speak, read and write fluently in Farsi. During my spare time, I enjoy painting and spending time with my family.
I am a Grade 12 student. I began volunteering at Bani Family Law in September 2024 as a part of the co-op program my school offers. The co-op program works similarly to an internship. While the co-op program has come to an end, I have continued my volunteering with the firm.
I’ve always had a particular interest in family law. I find it resonates well with why I originally wanted to practice law in the future, which was to offer counsel in times of hardship for others. Family affairs are a difficult and intimate thing to handle, so help from an objective lens goes a long way. I want to be in a position that offers objectivity and reason when emotional stakes are high. This, combined with my interest in the legal system, is what drove me to seek a placement here. I hope by observing and by volunteering my help, I will gain a newfound appreciation for family law.
In school, my favourite courses are mathematics and literature studies. In my free time, I read and sketch.
