Family Lawyer Serving Mississauga

Trusted Family Law Representation for Mississauga Residents

Bani Family Law helps individuals and families in Mississauga work through some of the most significant legal issues they will ever face, including separation, divorce, child support and parenting disputes. While our office is based in Markham at 500 Hood Rd, Suite 400, we serve clients throughout Mississauga, including Malton, Meadowvale, Streetsville, Erin Mills, Churchill Meadows, Cooksville and Port Credit.

Family law issues affect every part of life, including your children, your home, your finances and your future. Our firm is focused exclusively on family law, and we bring that depth of experience to every Mississauga client we represent.

A Punjabi-Speaking Family Lawyer for Mississauga Families

Mississauga has a large Punjabi-speaking community, particularly in Malton and the neighbourhoods along the Brampton border. Associate lawyer Shalu Atwal speaks Punjabi and welcomes Punjabi-speaking clients, so you can talk through your separation, your children and your finances in the language you are most comfortable with.

Shalu graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and was called to the Ontario bar in 2019. Before joining Bani Family Law, she practised corporate law with technology companies and startups. That background is valuable when a separation involves a family business, shares or other complex finances.

Working with Mississauga Clients

Our Markham office is reachable from Mississauga via Highway 401 and Highway 407. Because many Mississauga clients prefer not to make the drive for every step, we handle much of the work by phone and video, including consultations, document review and settlement meetings. In-person meetings at our office are always available when you want them.

Where Mississauga Family Law Matters Are Heard

Mississauga is part of Peel Region, so family law cases are heard in Brampton at the A. Grenville and William Davis Courthouse, 7755 Hurontario Street. Peel does not have a Unified Family Court. Divorce and property division must go to the Superior Court of Justice, while parenting and support cases that do not involve a divorce or property claim can also be started in the Ontario Court of Justice.

Starting in the right court avoids delay and added cost. We help Mississauga clients choose the right path at the outset, and many matters can be resolved through negotiation, mediation or collaborative family law without going to court at all.

Multilingual Services for Mississauga's Diverse Community

Mississauga is one of the most diverse cities in Canada, with large South Asian, Middle Eastern and Tamil communities. Our lawyers can work with you in the language you are most comfortable with:
