Bani Family Law helps individuals and families in Brampton work through some of the most significant legal issues they will ever face, including separation, divorce, child support and parenting disputes. While our office is based in Markham at 500 Hood Rd, Suite 400, we regularly serve clients throughout Brampton, including Bramalea, Springdale, Mount Pleasant, Castlemore, Sandalwood and Heart Lake.
Family law issues affect every part of life, including your children, your home, your finances and your future. Our firm is focused exclusively on family law, and we bring that depth of experience to every Brampton client we represent.
Brampton is home to one of the largest Punjabi-speaking communities in Canada. Associate lawyer Shalu Atwal speaks Punjabi and welcomes Punjabi-speaking clients, so you can discuss your separation, your children and your finances in the language you are most comfortable with.
Shalu graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and was called to the Ontario bar in 2019. Before joining Bani Family Law, she practised corporate law with technology companies and startups. That background is valuable when a separation involves a family business, shares or other complex finances.
Our Markham office is accessible from Brampton via Highway 407, which connects the two cities directly across the top of the GTA. We regularly work with Brampton clients through a combination of in-person meetings, phone and video consultations, so distance is rarely a barrier to getting the legal help you need.

Brampton family law cases are heard at the Peel Region courthouse in Brampton. Unlike York and Durham Regions, Peel does not have a Unified Family Court. Divorce and property division must go to the Superior Court of Justice, while parenting and support cases that do not involve a divorce or property claim can also be started in the Ontario Court of Justice.
Starting in the right court avoids delay and added cost. We help Brampton clients choose the right path at the outset, and many matters can be resolved through negotiation, mediation or collaborative family law without going to court at all.
Brampton is one of the most diverse cities in Canada, with large Punjabi, South Asian, Persian and Tamil communities. We built our practice to serve that diversity directly:
We help Brampton clients with the full range of family law matters, including:
